AiryLight_Tabletop is an iteration of the original AiryLight.
Like the original AiryLight, the _Tabletop reads the real-time, local outside air quality and projects this information into changing patterns on the ceiling above.

AiryLight_Tabletop was most recently on view at the Science+Art Symposium at CCA in SF. Before that, it was part of a show for NEWINC at Red Bull Studios New York

_Tabletop is the result of several months of iterative prototyping, manufacturing tests and consultations. The steel arc, lens piece and top cover are fabricated at Shapeways. The base and mechanism are fabricated and designed by me.

I used Arduino for the software and hardware, supplementing with PHP where needed for the calls to AIRNOW.gov (the U.S. government-supported air quality website).
