The rocking chair built for two that I fabricated and designed during Danny Rozin’s Digital Fabrication class.

PROCESS

I created Chairish through tons of sketches, tiny prototypes, using the laser cutter and cardboard and then two dozen hours on the computer numerical control (CNC) machine to make the final parts.

CREATE

Chairish was exciting for me - seeing an idea through from the initial sketches to the final, tangible result.

Conceptually, the rocker is about bringing people closer together, literally, making a space to have a conversation, a tete-a-tete. "Chairish" gives a calming rocking together, getting away from computers and phones.
